KC Indoor Season for Winter 2010 NEED FEEDBACK PLEASE!

Postby S Morrow on Fri Aug 28, 2009 6:22 am

OK, the plans are to race indoors again this winter. But, If we don't have the support like we had last season, I don't want to waste our efforts or our money.

We realize the track is located further from KC then most would like. Trust me, I drive an hour to get there. We don't have an option to relocate this season.

Questions

#1 Will you plan to race indoors for the winter season.
#2 Last years race days were Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon. Are there any better times or days that would make for better turnouts?
#3 Cost for racing was $15. Is that too high? remember, we have rent, utilities, etc. to pay that outdoor tracks don't have to pay.
#4 The dust was not a factor after the open house, any other factors that kept you from returning?
#5 Our race season will run from November to April. Is that season too long? Too short?

Please respond here, or email me at dak007@earthlink.com and give me your thoughts, ideas, and good or bad feedback.

We hope to make it this winter. Last winter 1 of our 4 kids were sick almost all winter. So we missed the whole indoor season. I can't say that we would be able to go every weekend. With the track being an hour away I think the weekend is the best time for us. I don't think 15 is exactly to high but hard when you have more than 1 racer. Jenna and Tyler look forward to racing there this winter.

Thanks,

Popes

Woodalls plan to race once a week probably Sunday afternoons. $15 OK but maybe the $5/cruiser charge when already signed up for class. Would appreciate a practice night on weeks before a national like Oklahoma or Texas etc.

We will probably take month of Dec off from racing but will be willing to help whenever needed.

Thanks.

#1 Yes, we plan to race this winter
#2 Sat Evening and Sun Afternoon works for us, makes for good options, weekday does not work.
#3 $15 is fine
#4 ummm the smell isn't great ;)
#5 Nov - April we'll race outdoors whenever we can in Nov and April, Dec is tough with a lot of family activities, so for us Jan - Mar would be fine.

Braydon and i will be there most weekends on saturday at least. I will make an attempt to come and help a couple times as well. Price is fine because we understand your expense and i appreciate you setting it up for us to ride during the cold months.

You know we will be there again!! From Nov - Apr...both days every weekend since I am doing sign-ups and scoring again!! LOL :) I think all in all everything that was set up last year was great! I agree with Justine...maybe a price break for riders doing class and cruiser? And definitely practice before any nationals!! For any that didn't come out last year...make sure to make a trip out this winter!! The track might be small, but it is awesome! The Morrow family put a lot of work into this. I can tell you first hand when we took Clayton to Desoto last March, he did way better than if we just sat on our butts all winter long! :)

We will be there most weekends mainly Saturday. $15.00 is not to high. We did not start racing until May of this year, but I think everyone involved with the Blue Springs and Raytown tracks do an excellent job. I am sure indoor racing will be a great time.

We will be there at least one day a week and probably 2 most of the time. We are certain that Quinn benefited greatly from starting at that track this winter.
